After a super successful race weekend at Salzburgring, it was time for the first racing test of our Porsche this season. It took place during the European Truck Racing Championship weekend at the Slovakia Ring, where an hour-long endurance race was also held, counting towards the Central European Zone championship standings.
The original plan was to only do the Thursday tests before the weekend. But things turned out differently, and the team ended up staying at the circuit near Dunajská Streda for two more days.
The first thing to figure out was who would share the wheel with Radim Adámek during the hour-long race with a mandatory pit stop. David Dziwok, who is also racing with Porsche this year, was at the Slovakia Ring at the time, so the agreement was finalized in a few minutes.
Friday's free practice was mainly devoted to finding the setup compromise for both drivers. It was successful, and in the evening qualifying, our duo took first place in their class.
David started the race and maintained first place in the class, handing over to Radim. Unfortunately, Radim dropped one place and finished the race in second place.
Now we have a six-week break, after which we will head to Most for a race weekend, where we will bring both the Porsche and both Audis.
